There is a pill shooter we have seen which is small enough for ferrets but the last I heard it was sold only through vet hospitals and I don't know iof that one is even made any longer. That was quite a while ago. We used it for meds which had to avoid water or saliva till we realized that giving them in an oily matrix made more sense.
For melatonin we typically just give it in meat baby food ourselves.
