I really like the Maggie Lloyd one - easier to read than Fox. Alas I leanta=
nother rescue my copy of Lloyd's book, she swears blind she's given it back=
to me. Next time I meet up with her I'm really going to have a ding dongwit=
h her.... She can afford the =A325 to get her own copy - I can't afford tor=
eplace it :-(In order of preference I would chose Lewington, Lloyd and then=
Fox.--SheilaBolton Ferret Welfare - not a registered charity[Moderator's N=
ote: Different texts are good for different things. I find that when a pe=
rson needs details not found elsewhere such as unusual forms of nutritional=
diseases the Fox book, _Biology and Diseases of the Ferret_ is best. When=
someone needs step by step info writen incredibly clearly I like Purcell's=
and the tables there are marvelous. The Lewington one is great for things=
that aren't usual in the U.S. and it has breeding info that I haven't seen=
elsewhere. The Quesenberry and Carpenter one is sort of between the Fox a=
nd Purcell one in approach and I find it more useful for some sections than=
others. For instance, there is more recent adrenal info in the FHL Archiv=
es, but it is great for some other topics. I do not have the Lloyd one. I=
don't know if I can say details but perhaps next year there will be a new =
vet text out by two excellent ferret vets who have helped many of us here. =
So, I will be adding that next year.]
