Hi,
Since I've been dealing with my Boo's insulin problems and especially since his surgery he is not wanting to eat his kibble or drink his water. We grind up the kibble and put a tablespoon in each of his babyfood feedings every 3 hrs. This, along with his 30cc sub-q fluids once a day. I was concerned about the same thing and my vet said that once he's getting this, he probably doesn't feel the need to use his normal instincts cause he's not hungry or thirsty since I"m providing this for him. I was advised by her to absolutley NOT just let him "feel" hungry by witholding the babyfood in hopes he'll just go for the kibble, cause it's not always the case. She said as long as he's getting his nutrition that is all that matters. Hope this helps you. What did your vet say about you changing foods, etc? I know ferrets are slow to react to new things. Did the vet recommend a way to do it that would be less obvious to your baby?
Keep us posted.
