If posts from ordinary people are not appropriate here, I apologize in advance. Our 4 year old sable female has just been diagnosed by our vet as having adrenal disease. This was confirmed with an ultrasound showing an enlarged right gland, and there was also a spot on her pancreas visible in the ultrasound.

Our vet has never performed a ferret surgery before and we agreed it would be best to seek out a more ferret experienced vet. To that end, I have no idea how to find a really experienced ferret vet that has performed lots of surgeries. We live in Lexington, KY and are willing to drive up to 400 miles to get the best care for Gurgy. At this point we wish to act quickly since both the adrenal disease and the possible insulinoma are in the early stages. We simply don't know how to find a great surgeon.

It is my hope that since there are a lot of ferret experts on this list that someone could give us a referral for KY or an ajoining state.

Warm regards,
Daniel & Misty Nalbach
