I buy unscented baby wipes. They do a good job of cleaning up messes and getting rid of the smells. They dry quick and because they are designed for use on babies, they are gentle and don't contain a bunch of chemicals. It's quick, easy and effective. They also are gentle enough to use to wipe down a ferret if they get messy.
I also use a bit of Oxyclean in a spray bottle when I do a thorough complete cleaning of the cage and litterbox every few weeks. (I use the wipes in between).
