I am so confused as what to do here. My 2 yr old male ferret has been having the birdseed/runny type poops for the last 3 mths... since I first got him. Have talked to the vet about this, but I dont seem to be getting anywhere. We got him down to 1 type of food (8in1 Ultimate). He has been on metronidazole for a 2 week regimen about 2 weeks ago. No change at all. Called the vet again. She said keep him on the same food, and she was going to prescribe Metronidazole again, but with Amoxi this time. Does that sound right?? Rudy acts totally fine, healthy weight/energy level/ eating/drinking..etc... except for the birdseed/runny poops... which is NOT normal and it shouldnt be going on for this long!? This 2nd round of meds is going to cost $75, and I really cant see paying it, if she should be prescribing something different. Please help!
