I've also never had a problem with Nature's Miracle at all... and I
absolutely *douse* the 'smelly corners' of the carpeted areas of the
girls' cage with it.

I'd suspect the carpet shampooer, personally... and second the
suggestion of rinsing the carpet afterwards. I've lived with a few
humans with sensitive skin, who simply could NOT use regular clothing
detergent, soap bars, etc. Your ferrets may be reacting to the carpet
shampoo in a similar way.

Too bad they don't make carpet shampoo for sensitive skin, or you
could try that! ;-)

>Source Naturals liquid melatonin contains 6% alcohol so I would hesitate
to give it to my ferrets. There is also another brand of liquid
melatonin that contains ethanol, which is also alcohol. I've been
searching and the only brand I can find without alcohol or ethanol is
the GNC brand, which I understand is being discontinued.>

The Source Naturals sublingual spray does NOT contain alcohol. You can just open
the top and get it out with a syringe. Here is a link.

This one seems to have a little bit different ingredients from the exact same bottle I
recently bought at a local health food store, but neither contain alcohol. It is easy to
figure out how much to give by syringe.
