Hello,
Last week, while holding our little girl, Loki, we discovered an
enlargement in her abdomen. She had an appointment for Wednesday anyhow,
so we mentioned it to her vet.
He examined her, and felt her abdomen area, and felt a lump also. He said
that it felt like it was either on her spleen or her pancreas. He said it
felt like it was on the back of, or behind, her spleen. Of course, this
was just meant to give us an idea of where the concerns were, not a
definite diagnosis.
We'll be doing exploratory surgery to find the answer.
What I'm trying to find out is whether tumors on the pancreas can be felt
like this. I always thought that there are usually just tiny nodules that
form, that can only be found during surgery. We've seen no symptoms of
insulinoma, but I'd tend to think that if what he felt was on her pancreas,
and large enough to feel, that we'd be seeing some symptoms.
I hope this all made sense. I tried to explain it the best I could.
Take care,
Jen
