Yes, I agree with Mike.

A bad furball can tear tissues as it moves, and it can also cause stomach ulcerations. We've had one who had signs of mild intestinal damage from one moving through, and we have certainly had ones who passed large enough furballs that they had a vet appointment and wound up on Carafate and in at least one case also on antibiotics. We've also had ones with stomach injuries from large furballs that needed to come out with surgery.
