Subject: Puzzled with Tweaky's Decline
Message-ID: <155.42836cf2.2eb8257f@aol.com>
Hello everyone! I posted some time ago that Tweaky had bilateral adrenal
surgery about 2 to 3 weeks ago and something puzzling is going on.
He has basically stopped eating and drinking and is at the vet's office as I
write this (been at the vet's since last Wednesday). I think the vet is just
a puzzled as we are as to what is happening.
He can't seem to stay hydrated, is grinding his teeth and eating every
little, if anything. The vet wants to put a "nasal gastric" tube in for feeding,
but I'm concern as I think he might have an ulcer, (reason for the teeth
grinding).
If this is the case, what should my vet do to help? Can any of the vets
contact me privately for his number so that another ferret knowledgeable vet can
consult with him to try and help Tweaky get over this hump before its too
late.
All his blood values are within normal limits according to the vet, so we
really need your help!
Mary
