Subject: Dale's passing
Message-ID: <8362075.1099362854613.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

I am still in shock that my Dale died within hours of him vomiting up a hairball. I wished I could have done more for him. I did feed and give him water at 4am today and was waiting till I could call a vet to bring him to. I had no idea he was dying. He seemed to be feeling better at 4am he stood up and sniffed the cage and drank water from his bowl. I still am in shock . My fiancee was here with me and he told me there is nothing more I could do and we burried him this morning.. I know maybe I should have gone and found a vet to find out what he died from but I just could not stop crying and was not thinking too clearly.
Now hours later I know I am still wondering what he passed on from. Now I know that in the future that I can ask a vet to find out why he passed on. I never thought of it. I still have no idea why he died but feel that the hairball I found is the reason there must have been more that could not come out. Just one last thing. Should I go and buy something for hairballs for my other ferret as a preventative measure?? Rusty is going to be three in December and has no sign of anything other then today looking for Dale..
I thank you all here I really appreicted your emails and help.
Michele
