I've been keeping a close eye on Loki since discovering the lump. I really
don't know what signs to look for to tell if she's in pain. Can someone
point out some symptoms of pain so I know what to look for? I certainly
don't want her to be in any pain, without me knowing it.

I have seen some very unusual behaviors in her, but I'm not sure what could
be the cause. She's normally a very calm, laid back girl. But in the last
week or so, she's been "throwing fits". She'll dig frantically at the
carpet, sometimes with bottle brush tail. In between her carpet digs
she'll sometimes she goes around the room like she's looking for
something. She's been ramming toys around. She's been very restless, not
enjoying being held like she normally does, and wanting to get away. I've
also seen her rubbing her face with her front feet a few times, which makes
me wonder if she has an upset tummy.

This is all very anti-Loki. She NEVER digs at the carpet or any of the
things I mentioned. I really don't know what's upsetting her so much, or
if she's just not feeling well. We lost one of our furkids, Jamocha, on
Oct. 20th, and I also wonder if it's possible that Loki is still upset that
Jamocha never came back. I really don't know how long a ferret can be
upset over the loss of one of the others. Loki always has been the mother
hen of the group, and each time we take 1 of the gang from their room since
losing Jamocha, Loki inspects everyone to see that they are all there.

So, I'm unsure if she's not feeling well, or if she's upset over losing one
of her buddies. I've contacted the vet with all this and should hear back
from him tomorrow. But any info or thoughts from you all would be greatly
appreciated.
