I give Penny "Healthy Choice" chicken breast. There's a considerable amount of salt in it, so she doesn't get much, but I figure this is better than any of those junk ferret "treat" you can buy. Penny will be 7 years old next month and does not have insulinoma! (knock on wood) I prefer she get real meat rather than all those junk treats sold in pet stores. You could also cook some chicken without adding salt to get around that problem.
You can search back through the archives to find out my feelings on surgery for insulinoma. Basically, I'm not that much of a fan of surgery, but read everyone's results before making up your mind on this.
