Subject: Flea Prevention Question - Revolution Dosing

Last month I found two fleas on one of my ferrets (carried into the house by a stray
dog I found and gave shelter too for a couple months)... which my Vet
recommended Revolution for Pupplies & Kittens (one .25mL vial per fert, their
weights: 1.6, 2.6 & 3.8 pounds at a cost of $27)

Well it has a been a month and I am due for another treatment when I found another
flea (obviously sick and dying). Well I made an apt with the vet to board the ferts so
I can retreat the house over the weekend.

Here's my question: Since I have 3 ferrets and it costs $27 per month to treat all
three with .25mL (Puppy Kitten dose) - total yearly cost: $324. I was looking online
for prices and I noticed I could buy a 6 month supply of CAT formula (5 -15 pounds
60mg/mL 6 doses of .75mL each) for $45 (comparable). If I used 1/3 vial on each
critter - isn't that effectively the same dose?? At a yearly cost of $90

Is there anything in the Cat formula to preclude me from doing this? I've heard of
people using a couple drops of the dog formulas but I'm not sure I want to mess
with that but it certainly would be more economical. At least a +70% savings of
using a partial cat dose seems better.

Any thoughts?
Jenn

products which are being sold in places OTHER than vet hospitals. You might find
yourself paying for a useless item.]
