Fox drinks about 80 ml every day. Does he still need 50 ml of sub-q? This=

morning he had 20 ml water, followed by 20 ml liquid diet. He will get som=
e
more liquid diet now.

We were at the vets this morning and he had blood taken and it'll be sent
away today. The vet has also given me sucralfate (carafate?). Would it be=

good to also give something like cimetidine or omeprazole?

In the beginning, when Spaz was first diagnosed with kidney failure, I was
giving him 50 ml of ringers every couple days. It wasn't too long before w=
e
increased that to daily. You should talk to your vet about the amount to
give.

As for the anemia...if you haven't had the bloodwork done that will tell yo=
u
you might not know by looking at him. Spaz's packed cell volume got as lo=
w
as 15%, which is horribly low, and his gums, nose, etc., didn't look all
that pale. We started him on Procrit and his PCV was soon back up to almos=
t
40%.
