back a few years ago, Argento ferret had a swollen area under her jaw -
took her to my regular vet who recommenced a vet who was more familiar with
ferrets. The second vet recommended a "specialist" - so took Argento to
the third vet. This vet made conducted a short exam and told me to give
her some tyndol (sp) to reduce the swelling. Now I know tyndol is not good
for cats nor for dogs. I called a local ferret shelter mom, she said
tyndol would kill the ferret and gave the name of still another vet. The
forth vet, who knew what she was doing, did a needle exprate and accurate
diagnosis. Argento underwent chemotherapy and lived another 3 years.
Moral of the story, listen to your instincts and make sure you have a good vet
