I have a 20 month old ferret who has lost her fur on her tail and gotten the telltale pot belly. I am going to start her on the melatonin implants. I had a hard time finding a vet in my area willing to do this. It's hard to find a vet in my area who will even see a ferret, and the one who all other vet offices refer ferret owners to had never even heard of melatonin implants! I printed out Mike's article on the implants and lots of ferret health list postings, and found a vet who is willing to do it, for which I am grateful. I was a bit surprised at the cost. Is $45 the going cost of one implant? It is actually going to be $90, 45 for the office visit and 45 for the implant. It's more than worth it if it helps Pip, I was just curious if that is the going rate, since so many people get several ferrets implanted at once. Thank you.
