My ferret is losing her hair and before going for 'invasive' action and on the advice of my vet and a few 'knowledgable' ferret people I have decided to try all other avenues first.
I have been giving her Evening Primrose and Kelp and this is showing an improvement in the condition of her coat and the re-growth that is occurring.
I have recently been told of the Chinese Herbal remedy 'Shou Wu' which is apparently a remedy for hair loss.
I would like some advice as to whether this would be safe to give to a ferret and if so at what dose?
I have spoken to my local Chinese Herbalist but as he isn't very good at English I had difficulty understanding what he was saying. After about 2 hours I gave up and pretended I understood him.
My ferret will be speyed as soon as she gets to an acceptable weight. She is still putting weight on since her rescue.
