I, too, am curious.

Of course, the estrogens and the androgens do play a number of roles in the mammal body. Estrogens (the older category) have hundreds or uses including neurological impacts, and the more recent androgens (including testosterone) have something like dozens. Both can be converted from each other, too.

So, on a hypothetical basis it makes sense that there is a maximum level beyond which negative side effects may be seen, but it would be interesting to know if the limitations placed are carried from studies in other mammals (and which ones), ones in ferrets, on hypothetical results, or what.
