Hello, I am new to the group but I have been reading all of your messages for the better part of this year and I have learned so much from everyone, so I'll start by saying thanx
Also, I was wondering if anyone had info on definitive, non invasive testing available for Helicobacter for ferrets.
I wanted to share with you the name of a Lab in Texas that now offers Helicobacter testing for ferrets. The lab is called R.A.L., Inc. You can go to: vetdna.com, their website for more info.
The test is a real time PCR test, and the lab says its non invasive. The sample required for testing is a "Gastric swab"
Does anyone know what that involves, and how you get one from a ferret?
Anyway i just learned of this test and my little guy has been grinding his teeth for a while and a definitive would be nice for Helicobacter.I i am sure there are others wanting a definitive also for this nasty bug.
