My husdand accidentally stepped on Ellie yesterday morning, while wearing shoes. (We now have a 'no shoes in the bedroom' rule) Last night, I noticed that her lower area, on one side of her anus is red and swollen. It looks sort of like a gigantic blood blister. We assumed that it was some sort of bruise, from when he stepped on her, and have been putting ice on it to try to reduce the swelling. Could it be something else? something worse? Is this the right course of action to be taking, or should we be rushing her to the emergency room?
