I recently lost a ferret to this 'mystery disease' that some are calling
DIM. My ferret had similar symptoms to yours, the key is the extremely
elevated white blood cell count. Please visit this page:

print out the DIM alert and get back to your vet ASAP.
There ARE survivors of this, but early critical care is essential.
