Hi
I, too, had a ferret with heart problems. My vet told me that this was
not something that had been seen much in ferrets in the past, but that
it is becoming more and more common. My baby boy was put on heart
medicine (I'm sorry, but I can't remember what it was called), but HE
HAD TO HAVE IT EVERY DAY AND ON A VERY REGULAR BASIS. This kept him
going for a while, but he finally crossed the bridge. I allowed an
autopsy just because this condition was so relatively new, and the vet
found all kinds of other things that would have taken Eric had his heart
not.
If your vet recommended heart medicine, please keep her on it regularly
or as directed by your vet.
