Hi, Katy,

Our vet gives a distemper shot approved for use in
ferrets. Nowadays that is generally Merial Purevax.
It has a very low reaction rate. In the unusual case
where a ferret has a reaction to Purevax he uses the
older vaccine, which I believe is Fervac-D. We did
that for Lady Ayeka this year. That vaccine does have
a high reaction rate but for whatever reason Ayeka
takes that one just fine and reacts to the "better"
vaccine.
