Subject: Melatonin Implants vs Lupron and Timmys Tonic

I have a couple questions. Which is "better", or when would you choose one over the other - the melatonin implants, or the lupron?
Also, I have given my 3 ferrets a tsp of Timmy Tonic in baby food almost every day for a couple years, so they are each getting about 1/3 tsp. After reading about the melatonin that killed some babies, I am wondering if this is ok to do? Are there others out there that use this on a daily basis? I started using it when my vet said Harry was showing extreme signs of lymphoma. He has since been very healthy - on the tonic.
