Subject: Differences in Prednisolone & Predisone Question

I was wondering if any of the vets, vet techs or pharmacist out there could
tell me the differences between Prednisolone and Predisone?

We have a bilateral ferret that is currently on 5mg/5ml (1 tsp.) of
Prednisolone qd by tube, which we are getting in liquid form, but know that the
feeding tube will have to come out and then we'll be facing giving the medication
by mouth, which is a lot of medication. This little guy fights getting
medication by mouth, so we know that giving a teaspoon every morning means we'll be
wearing more than he is getting and would like to get this is pill form, but
so far we have been unable to find it in pill form. Does anyone know where
Prednisolone can be purchased in pill form?

What are the benefits of Prednisolone over Predisone, and is there a better
medication than either of these? If so, what is it and can it be purchased
online with a veterinarian's prescription?

I have searched the archives and found nothing on this question so all help
will be greatly appreciated. There were a lot of Prednisolone questions,
but.....

Sincerely,

CMT
