I have yet to hear of any households with multiple cases and I guess it's
been 2 years now since Dr. Ruth Heller mentioned the first cases and wondered if
it was something new emerging. She was right. I am sure she'd be the first
to say that is sad. In a month it will be a year and a half -- though it
doesn't feel that long -- since Chiclet died of this new mystery disease. Like
others we have not had anyone else in our family come down with this disease.

You're right, Sukie - I would be delighted to have been wrong. I have not
seen a case locally since about eight months after seeing the first one,
although I have talked with people who have seen them in other areas of the state.
Still, in my experience, it has been limited to one case in a household.

Dr. Ruth
