i have a ferret named tucker and he is about 1 year old. he has lost a lot of weight and now weighs 1lb 15oz. i noticed the other day that he has 2 masses in his abdomen. i took him to the vet and she said she thinks it might be lymphoma. she did a urinalysis and a fecal annalysis and found nothing. took x-rays to see what these masses are connected to but the entire abdomen turned out white in the x-ray pics. there was also a very faint line that could also be another mass inside of his chest. he seems to be in no pain whatsoever. he eats like a madman(about 2-3 times normal) and everything still comes out ok, but gains no weight(he is very boney, i gave him a bath tonight and it sickened me seeing his bones, but his belly is huge). the vet seemed to be kinda stumped as to what this is and did not see anything in her notes on a ferret this young. she gave me prednison and an antibiotic(sorry i forgot what it was but i can find out if needed).

my question is, does this seem like a proper diagnoses although he apears to be in no pain? is surgery any kind of option? if so how much does it cost? if not lymphoma what else could this be?

any help is GREATLY appreciated. i am very worried about him, it was almost better not knowing it is probably cancer :(
