I was just informed be my vet that studies show that raisins may cause kidney
damage in ferrets.
It has damaged kidneys in dogs and cats so I am not taking any chances with
raisins anymore.

[The veterinary observations on raisins and kidney damage in ferrets are by Dr.
Thomas Kawasaki and teh current estimate is about 9 raisins -- or grapes -- for a
normal sized female ferrets (for males unknown) but that is only from a small
sample so vulnerability may vary in either direction, and ferrets do at times stash
raisins and then eat a stash all in one bout. The dog work which tell details is older
and can be found at http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=grapes or by
working forward from http://www.napcc.aspca.org/ ]
