The ideal candidate in my mind is a ferret that has lymphoma which has
affected first the external nodes - it is almost impossible to know when the
mesenteric (for instance) are affected unless you are doing U/S each month.

With Diana, we followed the protocol outlined by Hillyer and Quesenberry
(Ferrets, Rabbits and Rodents 1998) with great success. I believe that the
majority of our sucess came from the fact that an external node was first
affected...and not on any superhuman efforts by my vet (but he did the best that he
could!). Lymphoma IMO is an insidious disease and the more aggressively you fight
it, the better the outcome. I will say that in the 2+ years Diana fought the
disease, I spent in excess of $5,000..but every day with her was worth it.
