No dried fruit of any kind more due to high carbs and triggering insulinoma
over time. They have still not made the connection of grapes and raisins
causing Renal failure but are working on it. Enlarged spleens are a common
reaction to any major toxin infection etc. and relatively common in ferrets.
I would not rule out anaphylactic reaction based on recovery time since it
it is severe enough its effect on the organ systems could take longer to
come around even if the initial reaction is under control. It is the body
we manage not nec the allergy and if the body systems can't recover that's
when we lose them so I still think it is a stron possibility as well as the
possibility that he got inot some other toxic substance. No matter how
ferret safe we think we are we NEVER are. Best to you and Vlad.
Dr. Sue
