The other hospital did an ultra sound and they noted a lg left adrenal. They gave him a Lupron shot (Oct 18). Still not ruling out immune-mediated disease.
A bone marrow aspiration was done : Moderate to marked erythroid hypoplasia and decreased megakaryocyte numbers with mild myleoid hyperplasia & marked, well differentiated lymphocytosis.
COMMENT: Findings suggest generalized hypoplasia & near aplasia of all cell lines.The lymphocytosis suggest either systemic immune response, compensating for a recent neutropenia or (less likely) a component of an immune-mediated process against the bone marrow.
Is this test result indicative of adrenal disease or a possible toxic reaction to an allergen?
