color as Ashton's are. I have changed the litter and bathed
him. Ashton scratches once in awhile, but not nearly as badly
as Loci. Has anyone seen anything like this? Do you have any
suggestions? I couldn't get into the vet until next Wednesday.

If you can possibly get to the vet any sooner, do so--this
might turn into an emergency before then. The lack of color
can be a sign of anemia and/or dehydration, both of which can
become life-threatening pretty quickly. Make sure he is
eating and drinking, and if he isn't doing it on his own, see
if you can get him to eat some soggy kibble or some chicken
baby food.

I was faced with a similar presentation from my ferret Pan
around Halloween (lethargy, itching, pale gums and nose), and
it turned out that he had developed a fast-acting form of
lymphoma. With supportive care, he's still with us, but he
was one very sick little ferret when we saw the vet. That may
not at all be what Loci's problem is, but it does illustrate
that these symptoms can indicate something serious, so the
sooner you can see the vet, the better.

Good luck,

Regina
