Hello, I am still trying to find information on hypothyroidism in ferrets.
Does anyone have experience with a hypothyroid ferret or know anyone who has had hypothyroid diagnosed of their ferret? Or are there any vets that have diagnosed hypothyroidism?

If so: Did the ferret have skin problems, and was the ferret overweight?
My ferret has had skin problems for a long time and we have tried everything such as Lupron, prednisone, antibiotics, antihistamines, hypoallergenic diet, ivermectin, Advantage flea treatment. My ferret is not overwieght so the vet does not seem to think hypothyroid is the problem, BUT are all hypothyroid ferrets overweight? He is also very lethargic. His skin has orange patches on it that turn into crusts and build up. He is being treated for adrenal disease so I don't think that hormones are the problem.
Any suggestion ?.......
Does anyone know how I can put pictures up of his skin?
thank you
Tara
