I have a 10 yr old guy and it is not normal for them to get real skinny or frail. If this is happening some thing is wrong with the ferret. Have you changed his food or any thing resently? Old ferrets are creatures of habit and do not take to changes well. Also p-nut butter has way to much sugar in it for an old ferret. If you just got this guy and you got him on a diet he is not use to that may be why he is so thin. You may want to get him on some duck soup and some vit B-12 to see if he will perk up. You may want to have him check by a vet to see if he is having any other problems that you are not a ware of. Old ferrets do not put on as much winter fat as they did when younger but they still do store fat this time of year.

I have him on food for seniors and am giving him a vitamin supplement as well. His favorite snack is p-nut butter, so I give it to him daily. I know the life-span of these little guys is not-so-long. Is there anything I can do to make his quality of life better? Is it normal for them to get real skinny as they get older? I'm so sad b/c I'm afraid he's not long for this world! His name is Arnold.

Thanks!
