My recently diagnosed ferret has taken a liking to drinking her own urine. Yes, I do stop her when I catch her! And yes, she has MANY water resources available to her. It's not an issue in her cage because it is absorbed. It's when she is running around and goes on the bathroom floor which I don't mind because I can test her urine that way and it's easy to clean there.

Her urine glucose is quite high and the keytones had been significant up until today (none-yay!). Is she just drinking it because it is sweet (ick)? Can this hurt her more? It sounds funny, but she acts as if she is trying to produce it because she is eager to drink it.
