I'd lose the Uncle Jim's and stick with just chicken baby food. I believe A/D is good too and my favorite "duck soup" is simply one can of A/D mixed with one jar of chicken baby food. I add a little water to that. I've had ferrets on nothing but that for quite some time when they weren't eating on their own. A fair rule of thumb is to feed around 80-90cc's per pound of ferret per day.

This type of food has plenty of water in it, so they won't drink nearly as much when eating it. Also, a ferret that's not feeling well might drink more with a water bowl rather than a drinking bottle.

Carafate is simply a patch, it's not an antibiotic. You need to continue with the Clavamox. When you start them on an antibiotic, you need to go the full course. That's really not just for ferrets, but anyone.

You could probably read about ulcers in ferrets for the next several weeks and never read the same thing twice, there are so many comments on it out there. I believe the key is a bland diet and Carafate.

Talk to your vet. Don't make any treatment changes without discussing it with him or her. If you don't feel your vet is going in the right direction, get a second opinion.
