Thanks so much for your reply. We are using Humulin L. Have used U also.
Slinky's tumor is on the top side of her right front leg. So far it hasn't seemed
to bother her and she doesn't bother it. It bleeds every now and then because
she has hit it on something. It hasn't grown in diameter much, about the size
of one and a half erasers, but it's getting taller. Slink is an extremely good
ferret, makes checking BG and giving shots easy!, so I'll talk to the Dr.
about a local anesthetic. I had told the Dr. also that it had been mentioned on
the FHL that Lupron shots sometimes help to get a diabetic one under better
control but we hadn't done the TN panel yet. I'll talk to the Dr. about that too.
Slink has had her left adrenal out. You also mentioned diet. I leave out some
high protein kibble that I got at the Atlanta Ferret Symposium but for the
most part Slink eats Bob Church's recipe with a couple modifications.
Thank you again so much for responding. So many great people on here who
share their time and knowledge. Very nice.
Happy New Year!
Most sincerely,
Tiffany, Slinky and Cindy
