The dose I stated previously won't hurt but it is at a higher end. I should
have written 1/2 to 1cc to start and it can go up from there. I usu start
with 1 mg per lb but others feel they get improviment with lower doses and
you can always increase if needed. It is very safe it will just put them to
sleep for a while or the opposite. The concentration of Benedryl liq is
12.5 mg per teaspoon and there are 5 cc in a teaspoon making it 2.5mg/ml and
thus a very weak formulation. We use higher doses in animals then people.
Play the amt and the frequency of dosing by ear. There are also other
formularies that state the dose at 0.5 to 2 mg per kg body weight as well. I
think it just depends on what you are using it for. I use the higher dose
for sure with vaccine reactions. Hope this clears up any confusion.
