Subject: Rimadyl side effects/ferrets

My ferret was prescribed Rimadyl one time per day (1/4 tablet, don't know how many mg). Twice I have noticed him being very lethargic about 1/2 hour after getting the medication. My vet says this shouldn't be a side effect of Rimadyl. Yesterday he ran out of his room, scratched at a door to get into another room, and then suddenly just got very drowsy. After about another 1/2 hour he was better but still sleepy. No insulinoma in this ferret that we know of. Drowsiness seems directly related to taking medicine (shortly thereafter). Rimadyl website says only approved for dogs which scared me. Also says lethargy can indicate a problem.
Has anyone seen this? Any info appreciated. I'm not giving any more Rimadyl for now.
