If you notice the lethargy is directly related to giving the Rimadyl I would
not use it. I don't know how big your ferret is but my guess is the pill is
the small one 25mg and 1/4 tab of this is too high a dose for him.
It has gone to once daily dosing in dogs and I don't use it in cats. I
would not use a once daily dosing in a ferret unless it ws at the same
amount you would give if giving it twice (typically the once daily dosing is
the twice a day dose doubled a bit high for my iking).
It has been known to cause GI upset but the most concerning one is liver or
renal problems. I use it in exotics but instead of 1mg/lb like in dogs we
dose at 1mg/kg (which is 1mg/2.2lbs) twice daily. I think there are good
alternatives to try and you did not mention what he is on it for.
