The most important thing for anyone who has
a question like this is
to look at the ingredient list of the product in question.
Without knowing what is in a cough drop it would
be hard to give advice on it being ok or not.

However, if the animal is acting ill or the
product potentially harmful, calling the vet
or the 900 Animal Poison control number should also
be done.

BTW, even Benadryl could be dangerous if ingested in
a large amount. So the type of active ingredients, the
amount ingested and the weight of the animal all
need to be considered.

If the cough drops are only menthol or vit C
plus some sugar and flavoring, all should be fine.

If the question is about choking, then
if the ferret is gagging, unable to swallow or uncomfortable
then the vet should have a look.
