I totally agree with Dr. Murray. Remember you are also considering doing
things to keep her comfortable, the alternative is death or euthanasia, so
what have you got to lose, whether or not your vet thinks it would not be
good for the kidneys it cannot make her any worse. The protein loss also
contributes to the ascites and edema and the higher dose of enacard can help
reduce the amount of protein lost, I was encouraged to use this drug in a
case that there was kidney malfunction that caused protein loss and to use
enacard at a dose frequency higher then you normally start at.
CoQ 10 is an option as is Carnitine +/- creatine for the heart. Valerian
helps nervousness and perhaps reduce anxiety ass't with the medical problem
but it is just a band aid and does nothing for her primary condition.
Rescue Remedy is mood stabilizing and just something that might help relieve
some of the stress caused by the disease.
