I don't think your vets are using the wrong system, just a different
system than the US uses. So, without converting the numbers
to equal the units the US uses you can't compare them directly.
The one thing about the labs that strikes me is the anemia,
low blood count with a high MCV. Not sure what it means,
I am not a vet.
Unfortunately, most routine labs really can't tell you if cancer
or not. Just tell you how the organs are working, and so on.
It can be anemia from other causes. Cancer is a diagnosis made
on biopsy of a tissue sample. An ultrasound of the kidneys and
abdomen may help identify any masses, a urine sample may
help see how the kidney's are working and any signs of bacteria
indicating an infection.
Hand feedings as a supplement like Bob Church's chicken gravy
or meat baby food work well. Some people use duck soup
recipes. It is tough to answer that
question without knowing how well the ferret is eating and
what is available to you to help him put on the weight.
