The act of holding her leg for nail clipping could not have caused this. It's been a very long times since I've had a kit, but maybe she's just loosing her baby fuzz and getting a new coat? I can't really remember at what age that happens, but as she's only 16 weeks old, I think that might be a possibility. Someone here that has had more baby ferrets might be better suited to answer that one.
At this point I think I'd just keep a watchful eye on it.
