Hi Caity,

It's easy to express the bladder. Put him in warm water , just to make it easier and press gently his abdomen. If he is not able to urinate himself, you have to express his bladder at least 5 times a day.

About the paralysis, it's difficult to say there are diffent reasons and only the vet with X Ray and blood work can identify.
