Subject: Ker Avon update: Paralysis, and now chronic diarrhea

Hi, everyone,

Ker Avon, our small 5.5 year old guy, continued to struggle with paralysis and now chronic diarrhea. We first saw nasty yellow-green poop from him on the trip to the city 180 miles away. It got better for a while but now has returned and has been ongoing for the past 24 hours. He's still eating and drinking well.

The paralysis is about the same. He lost use of his right leg and hip again, but regained some movement in the left for the first time since last Thursday.

An ultrasound was done this morning and showed nothing out of the ordinary other than a somewhat enlarged spleen. Our vet will consult with the other involved vet and a decision will be made on further testing and/or treatment with steroids, probably dexamethasone.

At this point we continue to worry about Avon who isn't very active at all. A clue as to what is wrong would be really helpful about now.

I'll keep y'all posted...

Regards,
Caity and the seven worried weasels, plus Avon and Blaze
