I know that sounds wierd, & of course his vet said he shouldn't have all those treats he gets, but he's also 8 years old or older, & he INSISTS he get his licorice & mini-marshmallows. He clearly enjoys his treats SO MUCH, & we don't want to make what time he has left unhappy for him.

When my son got him & then me (by default), we knew nothing about ferrets, in fact I was a little afraid of those teeth. Then when we got another one a year or so later, thinking it would be good for Sid to have a "friend," he became quite unhappy. Since all those long-ago beginnings, & with much research & trials, it's clear Sid will NOT accept any other ferrets, & is a solitary guy. He seems to be & a little senile as well. Both of my ferrets run free in my house, & if I had it to do over I would do it differently, but I don't. And Sid literally would NOT eat anything else, oh except bananas & Ferretvite. Since he was diagnosed with insulinoma, we have worked extremely hard to get him to eat turkey baby food, whihc he now loves, & we have decreased how much sugar he gets a lot, but ferret food - forget it. So we are kind of stuck with what we have. But what I need now, is help to figure out what is wrong with him.

I went to see him in intensive care this morning, & he is SO bloated, but was at least responding & actually got up & tried to get away when I cleaned the diarrhea off his rear, which is the most response we've had since surgery. Anyway, I still coud use any suggestions. Norma
