Subject: lumpy neck?

I was doing my daily rub down on my ferrets to check for weird stuff, and I have begun to notice my little boy Cody has a lumpy neck. What I mean is that right above his shoulders, on wither side of his neck, there feels like there are fatty deposits or something. When you look at him, he seems like he has to small bulges on the sides of his neck. When I palpate them, they seem squishy, though I can feel a little tiny lump inside, that I feel on my other ferrets too. And, on the left side, he has what looks like a hard zit or something on the outside of this lump. Has anybody ever had this before? I know dogs and cats get lumps like that in their necks with lymphoma, so I am kinda freaked out right now. I do not know how old Cody is, as I took him in form people who never knew his age (they took him in from a homeless person). If I had to estimate, I would say 3 or 4. I am so scared. Can anybody help me?
