My son will shortly be arriving home with a young female "hand in". Our Re=
scue Coordinator reports that she is so full of fleas and has been in seaso=
n so long that she is extremely pale & flat. The fleas have had a dose of =
Revolution and the ferret has had a visit to a V. Hob. (It is a holiday we=
ekend here in West Australia and we can't find a ferret-knowledgeable vet a=
nywhere). She is refusing food or water at this stage so it will be up to =
me to keep her in the land of the living once she arrives.
Will there be any value in feeding her food such as liver, iron enriched to=
nic and so on if her anemia is caused by bone marrow suppression? Is there=
anything else I could do while we continue a search for a vet? Would a bl=
ood transfusion be the the only way to go at this stage.
Thanks for any advice.
